The 80 voice Vancouver USA Singers present a unique program titled “Sounds of Asia,” a concert of popular Asian songs featuring Japan’s hauntingly lovely “Sakura,” Korea’s poetic “Arirang,” China’s gracious “Jasmine Flower,” Bali’s boistrous dance “Janger,” India’s lively “Dravidian Dithyranb” and Israel’s bouncy folk dance “Zum Gali Gali.”

The stamp of eastern harmonies on western music appears in the opening scene of “Madama Butterfly” and selections from “Lakme,”  “The Mikado,” “Flower Drum Song” and “The King and I.”
