Who we are . . .

The "Vancouver USA Singers" is a community choir, based in Vancouver, Washington, USA. The choir was established 40 years ago as "The Brahms Singers" and changed it's name several years ago, to better represent the variety of music we sing. We currently have over 80 voices, both men and women. Membership in the group is by audition. 

What we sing . . .

We sing and perform all types of choral music and generally put on two main concerts a year in Vancouver, each with a different theme or type of music. We also perform a number of Christmas concerts and an annual cabaret/musical review.

For the cabarets, members of the choir perform solos, duets, ensembles, comic acts, and full choir numbers. Although started as a fund raising experiment, these shows have become very popular and always sell out even though we've increased the number of performances of each cabaret.

Where we've been . . .

The group's 2000 Concert tour to Great Britain marked the seventh overseas tour with previous tours to Germany in 1997,   Great Britain in 1974, 1977, 1982 and 1992 and to Holland and the Scandinavian countries in 1985. The choir has also traveled to Ireland, the Isle of Man. Hawaii, Victoria and Vancouver, BC in Canada

 

Change of Directors . . .

Ron and Donna Frasier are retiring after leading the Vancouver Singers to new heights for over 20 years. Appropriately, they have chosen "Frasiers' Favorites" as the title for these concerts. Audiences will hear some of the most interesting, entertaining and beautiful choral music in the choir's vast repertoire.

The Vancouver Singers are fortunate to have another exceptional director ready to take over the baton next season. Jana Hart, a choral director of church choirs and music teacher in the Evergreen School District already has next season planned. Her enthusiasm is contagious and current choir members look forward to working with Jana.. Audiences will appreciate the results.
