Come join the Vancouver USA Singers in a spirited concert of jazz standards and a touch of swing and blues. You will hear familiar melodies set to jazz rhythms and harmonies including Chatanooga Choo Choo, Fly Me to the Moon, A Nightingale Sang In Berkley Square, Georgia On My Mind, and many more. Included in the performance will be a quartet from the choir, singing Stormy Weather.
Featured in the program will be the Three Rivers Combo (Trombone) Quartet performing a Stephen Foster medley, as well as That’s A Plenty and Makin’ Whoopee. Organized in 1959, current members are Dean Qualls, Ken Rideout, Don Adamson and Jim Winn.
Phillip Morris is a graduate of Woodland High School and is a member of the BYU Jazz Ensemble. He will be featured playing saxophone on a couple of choir numbers. Phillip received many Outstanding Soloist and Musician Awards during his years of performing at the high school and university level.
